VITAMIN E AND HAIR GROWTH

Vitamin E is best known for it’s amazing antioxidant properties, helping your
body fight and prevent damage caused by aging and environmental toxins. In addition, it’s an essential nutrient in maintaining the overall health of your skin, eyes, and immune system. It’s reported to help increase stamina and
endurance. It contributes to the health of your cell membranes and prolongs the life of red blood cells. It also helps your body more efficiently utilize other vitamins such as vitamins A, B, and C.
Nearly everyone has heard of how vitamin E can help to moisturize skin, heal burns, and repair stretch marks, but did you know that it can also help prevent split ends?
By helping in the production of sebum, vitamin E oils, shampoos, and conditioners will help keep your hair moist and supple, preventing the split ends and damaged hair that can be caused by ironing, blow drying, curling, and other hair treatments such as coloring and dyes.
Using vitamin E topical products in conjunction with dietary supplements, or a diet rich in vitamin E, can help you to grow hair faster, prevent dry scalp, and will increase the health and beauty of your hair.

What causes hair loss
Hair growth or hair loss has a multi-factorial origin;  factors are normal or physiological like seasonal hair loss while some are pathological like fungal infection. Normally the hair cycle maintains natural thickness and volume of hair (i.e. the amount of hair loss is equal to hair growth); however,
any significant imbalance like:
* Excessive hair loss
* Decrease hair growth
* Combination of above two
Any of the above situations can lead to baldness or alopecia.
Normally, if hair are inherently strong and get all essential nutrients and growth factors to
repair and replace dying cells, alopecia never develops.
However, if hairs are weak, any potential environmental change or disease status may change the normal physiology leading to aggravated hair loss and alopecia.
Nutritional deficiency is an essential element in causing hair loss. This is because hair cells are considered labile cells like skin cells and undergo constant regeneration, and if nutritional elements are lacking in the diet, it may lead
to enhanced hair loss.
Just as all growing cells in our body needs nutrition, hair cells also require nutrition.
Vitamin E acts as anti-oxidant and helps prevent/ repair damage caused by
ultra-violet radiations and sunlight induced damage to hair.
Apart from preventing hair loss, Vitamin E also serves to strengthen hair, improve hair
volume and prevent graying of hair. It also prevents other inflammatory conditions of scalp that may affect your hair quality or affect cosmetic appearance like dandruff and itchiness of scalp due to dryness.
Vitamin E rich gels, creams and lotions provide protection to skin by penetrating deeper layers of skin and help fight oxidative stress and free
radical induced damage. Similarly, application of vitamin E on the scalp of head also improves hair growth and regeneration by penetrating into deeper skin layers and lead to re-juvenalization of hair follicles
To improve the delivery and absorption of Vitamin E, besides increasing oral intake, using following modes of consumption are also recommended by hair specialists.
* Using shampoo and conditioners having vitamin E in sufficient amounts in
formula.
* Using vitamin E containing hair oils are known to strengthen hair by nourishing hair roots. For maximum efficacy, massaging the scalp is very
important as it helps in improving blood circulation and penetration of vitamin
E within scalp skin.
*You can use the vitamin E gel from the supplement capsules as a topical
skin treatment
*Oral supplementation as it poses several other advantages to improve
overall health and well-being. This is partially due to an enhanced rate of
oxidation reactions that increases oxygen consumption by cells and prevent
damage by reactive radicals. A dose of 400 IU/ day is generally considered
safe and effective for the treatment of hair loss and alopecia.

WHEN EXTENDING A HELPING HAND....

We all know the analogy...'you may take the cow to the river, but you cannot force it to drink...'
There is a good reason the cow is at the river, it needs water...but is that the right time the cow needs to drink?
....ok, to the point...
we have tried to help one of ours in need at a particular time, but they "did not want to be helped", so we let them be. Let life teach them; they will learn the hard way ... etc ...
BUT HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THAT YOU ARE OFFERING NO HELP AT ALL??
Like, really, did s/he need the money at the time? or they just needed reassurance?
Back to my analogy; the cow did not drink; probably it needed salt to lick, or graze on some clovers and weeds to get the much needed proteins, or it was bloated or in pain. Did you ask why the cow refused to drink?
Very often we complain of the fellows we try to help but they are just hopeless!! I am guilty as charged. But really, were we offering help, or just show-casing our abilities?
When you extend a helping hand and the help is "ignored", is it really help? Sure, some people are just hopeless, but most times, we offer no help at all..just extra burdens in the name of incentives!!
This reminds me of a time back when I was little and we went visiting a relative at shags. There was a severe drought at the time and the earth was parched. I think it was during the1997 drought... Anyway, my relative had this tethered heifer that was malnutritioned and dehydrated. And the first thing the adults offered was some dry hay sprinkled with salty water. This tactic works to make the dry hay a bit palatable...but the poor heifer was dying for water and was willing to drink the salt water!!! If only it had a small amount to just sip, am sure it would have gladly chewed on saltless tasteless hay. I don't know what happened after that.. but I still remember the look on its dry eyes when it saw salt water being sprinkled on the hay ... i think I saw tears (...anyway, you know me).
We all know someone who just refused help, but was desperate at the same time. What if we just took the time to SEE the REAL need this person has. Fine, she has financial problems, but is it really a job this person needs, or a pillar of mental support to be able to believe that they are worthy to be alive? He has a drinking problem and can't hold down his family; fine, the family needs the money, but he needs to know he CAN support his family even when the income is low. We sing to him how his health is in jeopardy, but what if he drinks hoping the alcohol will finally kill him and end his misery (easiest way to die; fall asleep and never wake up). What if I just told him that he is of immeasurable worth, that we love him and his family needs him? Maybe the drink will finally taste bitter...
How many people could I have helped by being human instead of a wallet or connection? I don't know, but I won't count. I will just do it. I will extend a helping hand, not swipe a problem out of my way.
Think of how you do things; use your heart from time to time.

ONE STEP AT A TIME....

One step at a time - Jordin Sparks

Hurry up and wait
So close, but so far away
Everything that you've always dreamed of
Close enough for you to taste, But you just can't touch
You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it

You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you're feeling more and more frustrated
And you're getting all kind of impatient waiting

We live and we learn, to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly, Or falling in love
It's gonna happen when it's Supposed to happen
and we Find the reasons why ; One step at a time

You believe and you doubt
You're confused, you got it all figured out
Everything that you always wished for
Could be yours, should be yours, would be yours
If they only knew

You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it
You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you're feeling more and more frustrated
And you're getting all kind of impatient waiting..

We live and we learn, to take One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly, Or falling in love
It's gonna happen when it's Supposed to happen
and we Find the reasons why ; One step at a time

When you can't wait any longer
But there's no end in sight
when you need to find the strength
It's your faith that makes you stronger
The only way you get there
Is one step at a time

We live and we learn, to take One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly, Or falling in love
It's gonna happen when it's Supposed to happen
and we Find the reasons why ; One step at a time

We live and we learn, to take One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly, Or falling in love
It's gonna happen when it's Supposed to happen
and we Find the reasons why ;
One step at a time

It will surely happen when it's meant to happen...

LIVING ALONE, THAT IS NOT LIFE!!!

:: they travel faster those who go alone, but travel further those who go together ::

Lone ranger, the big bad wolf... the lone beast in the territory...
these are all tags we admire and at times claim. But, really, are they worth it?
I confess that I have succumbed to this line of thinking for a while now.. I can do it alone.. I don't need them... well, the circumstances forced me to retreat for a while, but honestly, I was never alone.
Life can be harsh; your friends will become strangers, and surprisingly, you will find yourself bonding with strangers. You will grow with people you hardly know by your side, and you will find yourself retreating to your territory. And think you did it ALONE; you did not do it alone, rather, BY YOURSELF.
The reality is that, those truly by your side gave you the opportunity to do it by yourself..and this can be harsh.
God does this a lot, I came to realize. HE gives you the space for you to work it, do it. Whether you accomplish it or not is not HIS issue, HE is happy that you actually tapped into the reserves of your soul and made the effort. Those we love do this too, our parents especially. Quite often, I thought I was alone, yet I had someone by my side all the time. I got depressed and had many other issues, but in the end, I was not alone.
Now, here is the curve ball....
Those I thought had my back, didn't. Quite frankly, I have no idea of where 90% of my friends are...they just disappeared!! Some pop up from time to time asking for a favour or two..then fall off the face of the earth!!
But those I thought I was done with....are still in the sidelines!!! Social media, community projects, hobbies et al... these people still have the space to accommodate your victories in the most subtle of ways.. always reminding you that you are not alone.
They are many, these invincible friends, but they are there and will hold your hand in the drop of a hat.. and so will our Heavenly Father.
The lone ranger dies alone. That will never change. But then, those surrounded by fake friends die alone too, and in the most miserable lonesome death.
Learn to celebrate your true friends
...you don't have to buy drinks every weekend to do that; that is fake (out of experience). Five minutes to even share an inkling of their achievement will go a long way in celebrating your true friends (or just saying that what they wrote on their CV is true when you get that call even though you have never worked together..just saying...you get the drift..)
Appreciate those in your life. Living in a big city and feeling alone is worse than being trapped in a jammed lift..

Live your life, and learn to love..

LEMON WATER, DETOX TEAS AND WEIGHT LOSS

Hi again,
today we look at hot lemon water, detox teas and powders that are touted to help shed weight. While these products are called 'silver bullets' for weight loss, they don't burn fats so they may or may not work for some people.
But, they ACTUALLY DO ASSIST in fat loss.
Our bodies naturally detoxify everyday as part of a normal body process.
Detoxification is one of the body’s most basic automatic functions of eliminating and neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin.
However, our lifestyles and diets cause us to accumulate more toxins than the organs can flush out. Body systems and organs that were once capable of naturally cleaning out unwanted substances are now completely over-loaded to the point where toxic material remains inside our tissues.
Our bodies try to protect us from dangerous substances by isolating and surrounding them with mucous and fat so that they will not cause an imbalance or trigger an immune response (some people carry up to 15 extra pounds of mucous that harbors this waste).
Detoxification through special cleansing diets and colonics is the best way to assist your body’s natural self-cleaning system. It is especially important for immune-compromised diseases like cancer, arthritis, diabetes and chronic fatigue.
This explains why, when starting some weight loss programs, most people diarrhea and really get scared of the 'side effect'. This is one way of
colon cleansing.
By reducing the amounts of toxins in your body, you therefore reduce the fats and mucous stored in the gut since there aren't any more toxins that the organs cant deal with.
The detox plans should not be a long term program. the extreme diarrhea may cause dehydration as well as malnutrition (as most users will be so scared to eat until the effects wear off). They can also interact with normal hormonal functions or even medications.
Most detox plans should not be followed for more than 8 weeks/2months so that the body is able to self-regulate and bounce back to its normal functioning.
Weight gain can be a result of many factors so detox alone may not work miracles. You may need to boost your metabolism if it has slowed down, and exercise regularly. Also, watch what you eat. Some recreational drugs, lifestyles
and medications may shut down the metabolism system so you may need to
supplement the thyroid hormones so as to rave up the metabolism.
For most men, decrease in testosterone levels usually results in weight gain, so boosting
up your testosterone using test products may also accelerate weight loss significantly.

INFLAMMATION: A SMALL PEEK AT WHAT MAKES US FEEL PAIN

www.inflammation2011.com
What Is  Inflammation?

Inflammation is a process in which the body's white blood cells and chemicals help protect us from infection and foreign substances such as bacteria and viruses. Inflammation is a protective response that serves to eliminate the initial cause of cell injury and to remove the consequences of such injury. The inflammatory process is closely intertwined with the process of repair.

In some diseases, however, the body's defense system (immune system) triggers an inflammatory response when there are no foreign substances to fight off.

In these diseases, called autoimmune diseases, the body's normally protective immune system causes damage to its own tissues. The body responds as if normal tissues are infected or somehow abnormal.

Types of Inflammation

Clinically, there are two main types of inflammation, active and chronic.

1. Active (acute) inflammation occurs on the time scale of hours to days and is characterized by the cardinal signs of inflammation; ie, redness (rubor), swelling (tumor), heat (calor) and pain (dolor). Acute inflammation represents an initial concentrated effort to eliminate an injurious agent.

2. Chronic inflammation occurs on the time scale of weeks to months and is characterized by the simultaneous presence of active inflammation, tissue destruction, and attempts at repair. Clinically, the process may be characterized by the loss of proper function of the tissue, but is often an asymptomatic, subclinical response.

What Diseases Are Associated With Inflammation?
Some, but not all types of arthritis, are the result of misdirected inflammation.

Arthritis is a general term that describes inflammation in joints. Some types of
arthritis associated with inflammation include:
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Psoriatic arthritis
-Gouty arthritis
-Systemic lupus erythematosus
The most common form of arthritis called osteoarthritis (also known asdegenerative arthritis) is a bit of a misnomer. It is not believed thatinflammation plays a major role in osteoarthritis. Other painful conditions of
the joints and musculoskeletal system that are not associated with inflammation include;
-fibromyalgia,
-low back pain, and
-muscular neck pain.
process of inflammation;;
INFLAMMATION
The inflammatory response (inflammation) occurs when tissues are injured by bacteria, trauma, toxins, heat, or any other cause. The damaged cells release chemicals including histamine, bradykinin, and prostaglandins.
These chemicals cause blood vessels to leak fluid into the tissues, causing swelling. This helps isolate the foreign substance from further contact with body tissues.
The chemicals also attract white blood cells called phagocytes that "eat" germs and dead or damaged cells. (This process is called phagocytosis.) Phagocytes eventually die. Pus is formed from a collection of dead tissue, dead bacteria, and live and dead phagocytes.
